We were instructed to carry out a Pre-Acquisition survey, Contract Administration and cost consultancy role in the redevelopment of a former Victorian school into luxury apartments.
First, we surveyed the site, advising the client of critical considerations before purchase. Next, following our client’s site acquisition, we produced contract documents and liaised with the project management team for the extensive refurbishment scheme.
We undertook a full cost consultancy/quantity surveyor role, including contract documents, certifying valuations and instructing variations.
Working on a Victorian property such as this one presented several challenges, including many hidden defects behind fit-out and alterations carried out by previous occupiers.
The number of lenders involved in the scheme also presented complex contract amendments which required liaising with several solicitors engaged with the project.
