We were instructed to undertake complete window replacement, including localised internal repair works to a large student accommodation block in Sheffield City Centre.
Acting as Principal Designer, we produced a detailed schedule of works and invited tenders for the project. In addition, we issued and managed the contract and closely project-managed building on site.
The project kicked off with a pre-acquisition survey which highlighted all repairs and replacement works required. Following the appointment of the principal contractor, works were managed under a JCT Minor Works form of contract.
This project was delivered when tenant occupancy was at its lowest, so it was vital for our client that works were completed before the new University academic year started in Sheffield.
Installing uPVC windows proved to be a practical, time-efficient and cost-effective alternative to the powder-coated aluminium option.
