We were instructed to contract administrate a refurbishment to a warehouse on the Parkwood Industrial Estate, in Sheffield. The refurbishment included the demolition of the office extension, replacement roller shutter door, external paintwork to cladding and trims and internal refurbishment to the office facility, including the toilets and the exterior wall of the demolished office.
We started by inspecting the property, producing a schedule detailing the works required to bring the building back to a good standard after the previous tenancy. During this process, it was decided that part of the office extension should be demolished due to its poor condition and minimal warehouse space.
We produced a schedule of works for the contractor to price. Next, a prestart meeting was held to discuss the project works in detail, including the start date. Finally, once works were underway, we visited bi-weekly to monitor progress.
This project was highly time-sensitive. Consequently, project work was carried out between the previous lease expiry and before new leases commenced.
