We were commissioned to survey a derelict former office building in Doncaster. Our client wanted to purchase the site to convert it into residential accommodation.
We met our client to establish the extent of planned conversion work to ensure our client’s specific requirements were included in the final report.
A full Building Survey report with remedial budget costs was produced within seven days to meet the purchase timeframe. In addition, the report identified numerous technical issues with the property before the conversion could proceed.
The building had not been used for years, attracting vandalism particularly to the windows. In addition, the damage had allowed pigeons to access the property, causing numerous issues during the survey.
The building’s basement had also been flooded, so we needed to establish how this had happened and provide a practical solution for remedial works. This area could be included in the proposed conversion scheme. Utilising the whole building would maximise our client’s investment return.
