We were instructed to act as Principal Designer for the refurbishment and extension of a residential property in Froggatt.
We reviewed all available information provided by the design team and Principal Contractor. Following the review, an F10 notification was submitted to the Health & Safety Executive (HSE). In addition, a Pre-Construction Information Document was supplied to the contractor to enable the production of a construction phase plan.
Our client was made aware of their obligations by their design team and, as a result, we were appointed to act as Principal Designer for the building works.
Our role in this project was identified from the outset. It’s great to work with clients, designers and contractors who are fully aware of their obligations. Ensuring that the health and safety of construction works are adequately planned, managed and monitored during the pre-construction phase of works is vital.
With clearly defined roles and responsibilities, all parties could work together to deliver the best outcome for the client.
