Construction work on Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s new Leeds branch in Benson Street, Sheepcar, their largest in the UK, is making great progress despite Covid-19 restrictions. Appointed as Contract Administrators, Project Managers and Principal Designers for the 3-storey flagship project, Inform Surveying works closely with Principal Contractor Sewell Construction.
A sizeable investment for Enterprise, the site extends to 42,688 square-ft and plays an integral part in the local area’s regeneration. The project, which focuses on sustainability, includes the installation of a high-tech water system that collects and recycles run-off water from the on-site state-of-the-art car-wash system.
Due to complete in Summer 2021, the new site will expand Enterprise’s capacity in Leeds. It will offer customers Car Club vehicles, and electric vehicle charging points in addition to an extensive range of cars and vans.
Led by Director Martin Dalley, the Inform team acts as the single point of contact for the project, including managing other consultants working on site.
Martin said: “This is another great job from Enterprise for us. Having the responsibility of handling the whole process, from demolishing the old building and clearing of the site, procuring the contractors, ensuring the design and building compliance, through to completion and handover, is very rewarding.”
Peter Cummins, Group Facilities and Construction Manager at Enterprise, said: “We’ve worked closely with Inform Surveying for many years now, so we can rely on them to get the job done. This development is significant for us, not just because it’s a key location in the region but also because it will create new job opportunities.”
Fellow Surveyor Felix added: “The brief is not without issues, but we are committed to ensuring construction is as green as it can be. Our objective is simple; minimise risk and stick to the schedule without compromising quality. Given the prevailing Covid-19 conditions, it’s very gratifying to know we’re on track to date.”
Over the past five years, the practice has provided Enterprise with a wide range of services, including condition surveys, dilapidation appraisals and party wall surveys.
